I have sent you a message to your email. Please get in touch with me. Its very odd because I specifically wanted to buy it from the insurance company but they told me they were giving the car a Cat C status and so it wasn't worth my while to buy it back to repair.

Did you HPI the car? It should show on the HPI. Unfortunately I don't think a dealer HAS to declare the CAT status. Morally obviously they should. The car itself was stunning. It was purely the engine and gearbox that was changed. A new engine and gearbox was the solution to the issue and the car would be lovely. The bodywork was sound and the car was simply beautiful. So don't be put off of the car. If the car was a Porsche fitted brand new engine then you will have a good warranty on it. If its a recon then I would potentially want to know where it came from. It should have at least a 1 year warranty on a recon though.

I am more than happy to help you with the history of this car. So please feel free to contact me. I have documents of everything on the car. Details of the whole case and also details of where I bought the car from and what the issues were then.

BUT like I said - had I been allowed to buy the car back then I would have just put a new engine / gearbox in and I would have been really happy.

How did you come across the blog? I am amazed you found it x

That is insane! Such a shame and a waste of a superb car.

This is unfortunately the industry we work in. Cowboy companies who think they are still in the 80's and can act like reputable businesses on the surface but then turn in to 'Arthur Daley' types the second they have your car! These morons give reputable dealers/garages a bad name.

The really annoying thing is that they will be allowed to continue this sort of shoddy work and absolutely diabolical 'customer service' . I know that you can't name them due to your on going case, but people should really know the name so that they can avoid them in the future.

As a petrolhead, I'm truly sorry for your loss.
